We at JADE AKITA'S are a small kennel located in Phoenix, Arizona who have dedicated 18 years with many sleepless nights learning and understanding the wonderful traits of this "teddy-bear" like breed, and have greatly came to appreciated the devotion, loyalty, substance, and precise expression of the Akita.

We're committed to continuously improving the overall quality and temperaments of our treasured dogs.  All of our treasured Akita's MUST be 2 years of age, and have passed all health testing ie; OFA Hips, Thyroid, Elbows, Patella , & Eyes prior to breeding.

The American Kennel Club breed standard states, " The Akita "
Large, powerful, alert, with much substance and heavy bone. The broad head, forming a blunt triangle, Massive but in balance with body; free of wrinkle when at ease, with deep muzzle, small eyes and erect ears carried forward in line with back of neck,  The large, curled tail, balancing the broad head, Cat feet, well knuckled up with thick pads. is characteristic of the breed. Temperament
Alert and responsive, dignified and courageous. Aggressive toward other dogs.

So with the standard being said, we take great pride in producing that  "SPECIAL" Akita that contributes great substance, type, soundness, today's "dog of movement", but most importantly, an excellent temperament one that is most worthy representative of the breed. I once read that the definition of that "BEST IN SHOW" Akita is one-third the pedigree, one-third what you see, and one-third what you hope it will be! One thing I've learned is no matter how you break it down, we all hope to have once either owned, or breed that one  "OUTSTANDING & REMARKABLE"  Akita in and out of the ring.

We hope you have enjoyed your visit and learned a bit about JADE AKITA'S and our strive for perfection. We are proud of what we represent, and what are contributing to the Standard of the Akita Breed.

Don't forget, we'd love to hear from you, so leave your comments in our Guestbook.  And a SPECIAL thank you to my new found friend Alicia Meyer for all her hard-work and dedication...
